Basically you get a roll of stickers or paper and sticky tape and write down the names of some celebrities, friends, movie characters etc. Then, everyone attending the party gets one of these stickers put on their forehead without them seeing it. Some sample questions are "Am I a girl?

First person to guess right wins, but keep playing till everyone guesses as this is more fun. You could even buy a cheap little trophy for the winner. At birthday parties, I loved to just sit down at the end of the night and watch my all-time favourite movie, or a movie I have not seen before with my friends. This is a simple activity, but it keeps the kids calm and quiet for 1—3 hours, so it's a good way to wind down at the end of the party.

If you do watch a movie at the party, a great idea to get the kids to behave and pay attention to the movie is to host a movie quiz afterward. Divide them into a few teams and come up with some questions, and the team with the most correct answers wins! Some of the questions based on Harry Potter for example could be, "What was the name of Harry's owl? This is an ancient game, but it still works a treat every time and is one game my friends and I still play to this day.

Divide the kids into teams or have them play on their own as individuals. Mime out their favorite movies, TV shows, books etc. When you guess it right, you get points for your team and then its your turn to act it out!

Either way, it's a great game to play and is guaranteed fun. This one is pretty self-explanatory. Crank up the tunes and get dancing! This one is especially good for the older kids. Another one of my personal favorite games is of course karaoke. You could also make this into a contest like The X-Factor or American Idol by getting judges and have your friends compete for some small prizes.

Again, I think this is guaranteed fun for all involved, and for those who don't like to sing, they can be judges and release their inner Simon Cowell. My friends and I used to do this all the time when we were younger. If you don't mind the kids playing with make-up, and possibly destroying some of it, this is one game that they will definitely enjoy. You could even buy some cheap drugstore make-up if you don't want to risk your own. The rules are simple; lay out the make-up and blindfold one person.

This person has to do the make-up of another person in 60 seconds, all while blindfolded. Then, the person whose make-up was done does this to the next person, and so on until everyone has their make-up done.

Once everyone has their make-up done, get some mirrors and laugh away at how ridiculous you look. This is a super easy and fun game with really yummy results.

This is especially good for older kids who like to be 'grown up'. This game requires a bit of forward planning. You pass the container around the circle and everyone can touch, smell or taste the food only one without looking into the bag, blindfolds may be required.

Note: You will have to check with parents to see if any of the children have any food-related allergies. This game again requires some forward planning. Come up with a set of clues or hints and print them off in various orders so the kids don't start off in the same place.

Pair the kids off and give them a list of clues each. All of the clues will direct them to the clue that will have an answer they need to fill out on the sheet which will lead them to the next clue. The first pair finished wins! This game is a lot of work trying to come up with interesting hiding spots and clues, but is a lot of fun to play and watch as the kids frantically search to win.

Sit the kids in a circle and give them a dice. You can use small dice that you'd find in a board game, or you can DIY your own out of cardboard boxes, making large dice, which can add a sense of fun.

In the centre of the circle are a plate with a big chocolate bar, a knife, a fork, a scarf, a hat and a pair of gloves. At this point, the child who rolled the 6 enters the centre of the circle and has to put on the hat, scarf and gloves and eat the chocolate with the knife and fork.

No hands are allowed, and you're only allowed one square in your mouth at once; after each square, you have to show an empty mouth to the adjudicator! This kid keeps eating until someone else rolls a 6 and replaces them. The person who eats the last square of chocolate wins. This game requires either a lot of small chocolate bars, or a really big one, otherwise, the game is too short. Divide the kids into 2—4 teams and each team picks a person to be their "Mannequin".

Then place a box of clothing t-shirt, trousers, shoes, scarf, hat etc. On the count of three, the kids race one at a time per team relay style! Only when the item of clothing is on fully can the next person on the team go. The team that dresses their mannequin first is the winner! This is a game for slightly older kids. Get the kids to sit in a circle and have them pick one child to play the "detective" in the game, and they then must leave the room for a minute. Then, pick another kid to be the "wink murderer".

When this person is selected, everyone has to walk around the room in random directions and the detective is invited back inside, but no one is allowed to tell this detective who the wink murderer is.

All the kids have to walk around the room while the wink murderer slyly walks around winking at people. This can be played multiple times in a row. This is another classic yet very fun game. Everyone sits in a circle and in turn pick Truth or Dare. The group then picks a question or dare accordingly and the person has to do the dare or tell the truth. This is a very fun game, but it may require adult supervision, as kids can be crazy. Twister was my favorite board-type games so get a twister spinner and mat and start playing!

You are out of the game if you fall or touch the ground, so its last man standing! Another twist on this game is to put a blob of paint of the correct colour on each spot on the mat for a messy, slippy, funnier version of the classic game. As the Olympics are just over it might be a fun idea to have a mini Olympics of your own. Everyone has to compete in sports like hula hooping, running, soccer, skipping etc.

One playing card is dealt to each person making sure one of the cards is the Ace of Spades. The person who gets this card is called "The Mole". The group of people playing should then be divided into two teams. Through the rest of the party, all games played should be team games, and should use the teams chosen. They should, however, try to avoid suspicion, as every 10 minutes all players will get a chance to guess who the mole is.

If many games are going to be played, then the best way to keep track of the mole's evil doings is to keep a tally of how many games are won by each team. If only one game is to be played, then simply keep track of the cumulative scores. Every ten minutes you could extend this time if you want , each player should find a place to be alone, preferably in separate rooms with doors.

Then, all players should go in order and announce if they'd like to make a guess as to the mole's identity. If they do, then they go to where their guess is hiding, without letting anyone else see who they walk to, and ask if they're the mole. If they are not, the player asking is out, if they are, the game is over and the player asking wins. Blindfold one kid and spin them around for 20 seconds to disorientate them!

Then they have to walk around the room, arms outstretched, and try to catch another kid. If you get caught you are now blindfolded! Try to avoid running because that could lead to injury and make sure to child-proof the area!
